have some more -1 for moaning about it

thats a bit harsh, just throwing karma about the place like that

He only did it because he knew it would upset him more, fair enough tbh.

tbh nobody even cares about karma, post count, etc etc. Just don't spout crap and ignore it.

Whats the point in giving it out if nobody cares about it?
The person was only asking a question...
And trying to improve his personality online with other members...if people want to do that, the forum would be taken as a joke eh?

this really made me laugh, the 'top-lot' on the forum are happy to be offensive to others (even though the others cannot see) and yet as soon as you remotely say somthing that isn't to the like of them you get -ve karma. pretty pathetic in my books. i say get rid of the bloody thing. or at least allow fair people to give it too.

yeh i agree with drop in rules.

He deserves good karma, he posts everything next day delivery, is really helpful and a nice genuine dude.

he also helps keep this site clean by advising new users about the rules and regulations and stuff. give him a break he hasnt done anything wrong. in my opinion as reflection of buyer feedback he deserves good karma

Personally i like Karma; Makes me want to be a better forum user  Roll Eyes Grin

No but in all seriousness, I like it and for me at least, i think of ways i can improve my post before posting it, If its going to contribute in a possitive mannar and the like... If you understand what i mean ?

Also along the lines of people being juged through there karma, i personally dont do this. Say in the classified section, I go by convosation what people are like. E.g. If there reliable ect... like drop_In_rules, I personally have not dealt with him but from feedback ive read/Seen i would be happy to deal with him regardless of his Karma.

To some they like it, Some they dont.
Its like post counts, Its there, But does it really matter ?

If you dislike it, Ignore it like you would post counts.
because you dont see loads of threads about "Ive got 80 posts i dont like the post counter"

I know that may sound a bit harsh but it is true when you think about it isnt it ?  Smiley

*sigh*

If you want the power to give karma then post in a constructive manner, simple as. Stupid advice, posting absolute drivel, lazy spell checking, bickering and general pig headedness after asking for advice (and refusing to take it because you don't like what you hear) are some of the things that piss off the long term members most.

Look at someone with a high -ve rating and you can bet your ass they're guilty of something in that list. In all honesty I preferred the original system where there was only a single rating and someone could redeem themselves in time, there are loads of folk on forums I use who have rocked up, been complete tossers for a while and then taken (perhaps not so) subtle hints and ent on to become a valuable member.

End of the day just think before you post.

And avoid political threads  Roll Eyes

I'd love to know who this "top-lot" are... I also fail to see how giving someone -ve karma constitutes "offensive" behaviour.

Really, certain people need to get over it. That fact they don't only goes to make the point if you ask me.

I think this karma is a bit misleading sometimes. I see people who I think post positive, constructive advice and contribute to the forum in a good way, with a fair bit if negative karma.

I was interested to know why I got positive karma(not that I'm complaining) because I wouldn't say I was one of those people who can offer correct advice as I do not know enough to help most.

I believe its "rootes" who has a fair bit of positive and negative karma, but I would say he gets alot of it for disagreeing with people who can give karma, so it ends up with karma being used due to personal disagreements not him posting rubbish.

just another way for people to kiss arse or winge about people not being mincy do gooders on the forum (that'll be rootes then)...why bother? Most people who get bad karma couldn't care less, I don't Cheesy
I post loads of sound advice but also will calla  spade and spade and don't deny doing 'bad;' things that pretty much everyone does, but wont admit to on a  forum, so i can't give karma. probably best though because most of the time anyone who is 'someone' on a bike forum is is s**t at riding but like to talk about it as if they know something...

Both you and Rootes get your fair share of + & - as you are so vocal and emotive in your opinions, which many agree/disagree with.  Personally I admire you for being honest but still think you talk some cr*p but so far as making me want to give - karma, it still doesn't give me a good reason to just because someone has an opinion I disagree with.

In my view it's those who are immature and just want to be like their peers without doing the hard work (groms anyone??) that tend to have a problem accepting that they have a - Karma.  I certainly have a lot more important things to worry about than statistics in a little box.

Awwww thanks Bill so kind of you.

I'll start to rebel shall I?  I AM AN ARROGANT c**t WHO DRIVES FASTER THAN YOU AND DOES EVERYTHING ILLEGAL AND LOVES ROCK AND ROLL AND GIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRLS.

Anyway, Karma.  I gave up on giving Karma a fair few months ago after getting bored of people not knowing how to use it and instead just dishing it out when they disagreed with a debate but couldn't come up with a coherent response.

I agree. I think that people are over using it. IMO it should be destroyed, it creates a stereo type for a user. Not cool...
