Oh, thats new.  Undecided

Chain reaction seem to be going down in peoples books. They tend to have next to nothing in stock anymore too.  Sad

Maybe they are having to cut back having practically given stuff away for so long?  Plus, they have to get the goods from somewhere, so maybe it's just them waiting to receive stuff from suppliers?

Got to admit, I have seen this too. While trying to get a 'quote' for a front wheel, i couldnt make what i wanted as half of the stuff was out of stock!

Alternatively...shock horror it MAY just be an error with their website.

How about you guys email them and quit bitching off the back of some vague thoughts and rumoured opinions.

Give mtb-direct a call, they've got top notch wheelbuilders...from what I've heard it's a lottery with CRC if you get a good build or not.

Seconded. MTB-Direct are a good company to deal with, and had good experiences (as far as mail order goes) with Stif / Rutland Cycling.

ha, i ordered a hayes stroker trail earlier today, and to my surprise it was also posted today  Grin i'm happy, except i had to order a V6 with a 7" mount as that was the only mount instock and i have a 6" mount anyway.

funny thing was they said they have to build the kit befor ethey post. does that mean bleed the brake or what?

its that time of season where its shifting from 2008 to 2009 and lots of suppliers are out of 2008 stock (especially Madison with Shimano) and so retailers are having major problems meeting orders

I had a wheel built by CRC some years back and it was fine

however, i would always get wheels built more locally and enjoy the important benefit of a "free re-true" that most good wheel builders offer, taken after a couple of hard rides or a month of lighter riding, to re-tension and re-true the wheels after they have settled down...which makes for a longer life

bit hard to send your wheels back to Ireland for a "free" re-true  Wink
