hope mono 6 (moto)
« on: August 24, 2008, 15:21:43 PM »

o.k i was looking at the new hope mono 6 brakes and i was wondering, due to their caliper shape do they have to be used with 203mm rotors?

as i would ideally use them with 183mm rotors but they are only sold with 203, is this because of the reason i said above?

I've got some of the older mono 6 ti's and the calliper looks to be pretty much the same. As far as I know you can't get a 185 mount for the front, however I've got a mono 6 specific 185 rotor for the back. So it is (or was) possible.

If you want to swap a 185 disc for a 203, I'd be up for it... Wink

They will work fine with a 183mm disk.

[Al], do you know if the standard Hope floating rotors are the same as the mono 6 ones? I need to get a new one really, but seem to recall someone from Hope mentioning that they were mono 6 specific and had a deeper band.

ye the moto/mono 6 do use specific disk, as you said with the larger braking surface. I imagen if you did use the standard floating rotor the rivit thingys would/may catch on the caliper.
