Aint been able to do much in the way of digging so far because of the weather and we're looking into hiring a turf cutter for the day as it would save us a lot of digging work.
On the subject of the weather don't neglect drainage when you build it.
Good advice, dont be tempted to dig down to make a line, make sure everything is above ground level, even the dips in pump sections etc, otherwise it will fill up with water rather quickly. Are you thinking of any other drainage methods? ( Gravel / rocks under the soil etc?)
water ruts from the trough of the pumps/jumps/whatevers away to a lower area so it doesn't sit in a massive puddle making it unridable or ruining your dads lawn even more
just a sugestion but how about uing the grass and laying it on the side so it kind of looks like this years empire of dirt track but nice progress should turn out good wish my parents would let me do something like that

Good idea. The main thing that the blocks will be used for is the berms and pump lumps obviously but if theres any spare we'll look into doing that
