orange missile seat post size without shim

as above what is seat post without shim
my giant post (30.9) fits but it doesnt clamp up tight

so i am guessing it should be 31.somethig ?

either 27.2 for 99-06 or if it is the first one 98-99 it will be 31.6.
so says oranges faq
