Ive had root canal surgery. They numbed my mouth then drilled a f**k off hold in the back of one of my front big teeth, have to get the plug replaced every year aswell. You might suffer discolouration of the tooth aswell.

Had the root canal at 2pm today, took about an hour. Didn't hurt but the pain has just started coming now and it hurts like a bitch!

lol It's funny reading what different peoples conception of what a root canal treatment is... Basically in your first visit what you've had is the irrigation (cleaning) and obturation(packing) of your root canal. I'm assuming it's an upper front tooth that you've had the injury on? If so this is the most simple tooth to do an RCT on and you shouldn't have any complications other than discoloration + lack of sensitivity . I'm also assuming you're booked in for another appointment to have a restoration (filling) or veneer/crown on top of the root canal treatment? It's very rare to have the procedure completed in one visit....

How's the tooth looking now anyway? It's been a week so things should be fine if it was a successful treatment.
