Garage - Insurance question sticky?
« on: August 28, 2008, 08:53:24 AM »

It seems to be that every week or so there is a new question about car insurance for young drivers, usually bemoning the fact that they cannot find something under £2,000 blah blah blah...what insurance do you use? blah blah...I didn't realise that it's not just the size of the engine that matters  Roll Eyes and so on (you get the point).

Now I know that the search button is there for them but the use of this seems to be much more hassle than posting another topic on this frankly very dull subject.  Is it possible to have an 'Insurnace Queries' sticky where the benefits of using Quinn Direct and 'should I declare my Ripspeed mods?' topics can be disucssed?

Or better, how about a single post with a list of phone numbers and websites, so the 'insurance hunter' can do some ringing themselves?

There was a long list on FiestaTurbo.com which I use each renewal time, I'll try and find it again.

I think the reason so many people post up about insurance is because, it costs so much and because NCB are the only thing you get to show for that 1k etc at the end of your first year driving.

A thread showing links to cheaper insurance sites, and advice on how to make it cheaper like pass plus etc would also be used.

It's not the fact people ned help, its the repeat of the same topic on a regular basis, hence the suggestions for a sticky (a bit like the 'how much is this worth' subject which got stickied on the sales board).

I think its a good idea, as theres a constant flow of people starting to drive, or changing cars ect.
I for one would like to know what and where best for my choice of car..
