I suggest you do some proper research rather than just believing what other people tell you mate.

If psychology wasn't an issue I wouldn't have got the 20odd messages and emails from people looking for advice on the back of this thread.  Do you actually have a clue what Sports Psychology involves, or how it can be utilised?  Have a read through what I've written, if you actually have an interest in what it involves, PM me and I'll give you an insight.

If you're just trying to stir things and be a c**t, piss off.

I've been coaching Harry (barn owl) on here for a year now using my Psychological approaches...He's quick as FOOK for someone who's only been riding a bike for a year.

I'd vouch for that, Harry's come along scarily (and somewhat annoyingly) quick!!

It’s funny how some people don’t see the benefit of using their head when racing a downhill bike down some gnarly terrain. Where losing focus, being nervous, tired, unsure, etc. can cause major issues. Possibly they need to wonder why they are consistently off the pace.

Here’s ten tips to start you off.

1   be positive. Always look for something positive, even on that crash laden run.
2   Learn from everything, if you don’t do it right, what should you have done
3   Review your performance, look for what will give you the most gain then practice it.
4   Learn relaxation techniques – controls stress and relaxed muscles provide more efficient power.
5   Learn focus techniques – get your mind on the job at hand and keep it there.
6   Practice them regularly. If you want them to work when you need them, you need to train them until they work automatically.
7   Figure out what your best set up / preparation is before competition and use it each time.
8   Never be tempted to put yourself down.
9   Visualise – technique, race runs, sections, standing on the podium, etc. see it, hear it, feel it.
10   Enjoy yourself, what’s the point if you always go home frustrated! Enjoy every run.

Sorry the website is www.lifedevelopments.co.uk

Not really seen anything great on the net that will help. Some good books out there, but probably best to use a sporting mind coach Shocked)

Whatever you use, enjoy your riding.
