I think little things in chrome might look quite good. Lets see what i looks like on a fully built bike, might not be all that bad...? :S

The smudges don't do it any justice at all and personally I wouldn't run a chromed bash guard but I think that chromed 'bmx style' cranks often look really good on dh bikes.

to have chrome on your bike is insanely insane! Wink

i know biking is our life, but we still have jobs,school college and woman/men to look after.
IMHO youd have no life as youd be trying to pollish it up every blo*dy second.

chrome only looks good when its polished up......

and i also wouldnt want to leave my bike outside a shop to get back finding some little Twunt has gone and put finger prints everywhere. Roll Eyes

I "chromed" my bike back in March.

techinically its not chrome but highly polished. its the same with that bash guard it hasn't been chromed it just been polished.

nitromorsed the frame. wire wooled it.  then worked very very hard with my 1/2 horse power bench grinder and various polishing mops.

i ended up with a polished 2004 sx supercross
(note the pic is WIP)

once highly polished its needed zero protection and maintinence since! the highly polished surface hasn't faded or oxidised!

chrome is in

same as pink bikes
white bikes
raw bikes
etc etc etc

its funny as i had a white bike back in 2003 and then white bikes took off.
i have a polished bike now polished is taking off

The worst part for finger prints would be chromed levers  Cheesy

I like a few chromed bits but thinks its best for small parts or linkages

I think you're mistaken, that is a chromed part not polished.
