How to remove grips - bolts rounded!

Hello sdhers,

Does anyone have a solution to remove the little bolts in ODI ruffian lock on grips when theyve rounded?

Im having great trouble with it, and used many techniques none seem to work

any recommendations?

Use a hacksaw and cut the bolts through the slot. Obviously you'll need new loc-on collars after though. Or if you can be bothered to try and get the bolts out...just new bolts.

use alraldite or sumthing and glue the allen key in falling that hacksaw .

The sawing technique may prove a little hard, as the grips are on the handlebars, which are on the bike.  Undecided

I mite try the glue one though  Cheesy

hi dont know if this helps but u can try drilling them out and just replace the bolts or hammer a torx head into the bolt they normally lock in pretty good

With care I did mine on the bike. (Hacksaw method)

Can reuse the collars if you're careful and cut through the exposed thread where the gap is in the collar.

Hacksaw through the collars, then put in a fat screw driver, and force each side away from each other. That means you don't have to cut all the way through. It's how i got mine off a couple of days ago.

Then go and buy yourself some imperial grips with 3mm bolts!

That is another alternative if you don't want to hacksaw them....but if the collars are too tight you'll have to saw them.

use a grinder attachment on a dremel and cut through the space in the lock on collar. about a minute and its done. whip off the collars and get some new ones (or grips)
