Yeah, split mine in 2 last november, luckily the two bits hadn't shifted so didn't need surgery but i was in a cast for 8 weeks. Best advice is to listen to what your doctor says and don't put any stress on your arm. Hope you have a speedy recovery

unlucky mate, i broke my mine at easter, didnt realise it was broken untill the middle of july because it just felt sprained. Anyway after xrays and stuff had to have surgery, got bone taken from my pelvis and put into my scaphoid to fill the gap then it was all pinned together. Was only in plaster for 6 weeks but not allowed to ride for another 6 weeks afer having  the plaster off. 3 WEEKS AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO RIDE AGAIN. Atleast you didnt have to miss a whole summers riding;). Doctor said to me it might not fix too but apparently that never happens.

Broke mine 3 weeks ago. Displaced fracture. Had surgery about 10 days ago where they took a wedge of bone from my hip and screw it to the scaphoid. Staples came out of the hip and wrist today but it's going to be a long recovery

Surgeon said today that it'll be 12 weeks and that might not even be long enough. Looking at today's xray the bones have not knitted today at all are are only held together by the screw

Haven't been in a cast at all

Although the scaphoid bone takes more to break than the radius (the forearm) it's the most commonly broken bone in the wrist when anyone falls onto an outstretched hand.

We've all been over the bars and put our hands out I think it's just your luck if you break or not. I've had worse trips over the bars than I managed to roll out of but this one got me!

According to Dr Low, resident Morzine doctor thats a myth. You'll see more broken scaphoids than radius.

Also in the scaphoid club, just a fracture but seven weks in plaster and now four in a slplint so its frustrating...
