bala dh track
« on: September 15, 2008, 13:31:56 PM »

I was on pink bike doing my thing being bored due to off school. and realised that theres a dh track in bala Cheesy After reading alot about it on pink bike I realised its a privately owned track, how many times in a year is there racing there?? and would I as a 15, 16 start of next year be able to race there?? also is there a websitefor it?? (looked on google already)

thanks

Its completely private and the course wanders onto a couple of different peoples land.
It was open twice this year I think, Pearce series and Champs. I think to enter either you have to be 16, No uplifts days or opens days to date.....
I think the Athertons have a privliged access to it too...

you live in port right (think it said that in ur pinkbike folder)?
just get on the train to caersws, 10 minute ride from the station, knock on the door of the farmer and sign the petition and then ride the track for the day before catching the train home, live near barmouth and have done that many a time. you can race from 14 in the juveniles anyway so next year you could do the pearce rounds at ludlow and they will probably have another at bala after the success of this years (sold out in about eight hours!)

sorry not a petition, a form to say that the farmer is not responsible for you injuring yourself. It means he isn't legally responsible for you breaking anything. plus you give hime £5 to ride for the whole day. Before you go you need to ring him though cos sometimes he is working on the track or felling trees or there are sometimes shoots on or uplifts and you can't go during lambing season either. its also a bitch to push up but you can do your own uplift which is included in the fiver. bit of advice though, don't try getting a polo up the final bit of the uplift track, it causes damage!

The form thind doesnt work there anymore.. because of someone being stupid they have wrecked it for all of us... Caersws is getting cut down and there is 1 uplift before this happens.. its advertised on here in the Borderline Events section...

U can push up molefre when ever u want but its not worth it... that also is closed in late november for lambing and then re opens in about march time..  Again Borderline events have one more uplift there...

U can ride at the bala races at your age... u can race from 14 years old... and the uplifts dont hav an age limit...

Hope that helps... send me a pm if u need anything else...

it could be better to go second hand and get a really decent downhill bike for the same cost. There are some really good deals on the forum and you could easily get a better spec than the one on that bike. Having said that that is a really decent bike and would be fine for all the downhill tracks.

i thought that had been sorted out? so no more races or uplifts or even pushing up there then? that is really sh*t,
