Thought id say hello!!
« on: September 29, 2008, 10:16:16 AM »

Hi, I put up a "what bike should i buy" thread a while ago and ive only just ended up buying a bike , So thought id introduce myself again.

I live just outside Manchester and on saturday i bought a 2009 Scott scale 60, I havnt been on a bike for the best part of 10 years but a few of my mates are really into it so in a bit to get fitter ive bought one and im gonna get into biking. Did about 6 miles on it on road last night, Gonna keep at that for a couple of weeks until my fitness gets better.

Whats peoples opinions on the Scott??

well your fitness is not going to get much better if you only ride 6 miles every two weeks!

if your riding for fitness you want nice long slow  uninterupted rides where you can maintain a pretty high cadence. 20 miles session?

OR medium/short fast rides. But again, the 'uninterupted' bit is important. Try 6 miles challenging off road going as fast as you can, if you have a fast heart rate & out of breath you know you have the right pace.
