Yep, would be up for it. I think a fair few people are missing the point when it comes to this subject, I don't necessarily see it as something only for the pro's, why shouldn't amatures use it to improve? when your learning theres usually a shed load of confidence obsticles to overcome, a fair few people (myself included) spend large sums of money on the top kit when any half decent stuff will get you down in one peice yet no-one seems to invest in the old grey matter which arguabley makes the biggest difference to any rider. If you put it in those terms its probably not going to be more money than would otherwise be wasted on upgrades.
Iv'e reached a plateau, and I have done so because of confidence, unless I could get out somewhere like france or whistler every day for the rest of my life I don't honestly see practice making too much of a difference. Sign me up.

Rootes, I'm really interested. Having heard how Tiger Woods improved with a Sports Psychologist it's an area which has to be considered. I think this is a huge market which will really take off - successful people think in the "right" way and that's part of what makes them successful. Too many people think it's rubbish because they've never seen how setting targets and focussing in some areas can help. Sports nutrition is now an established discipline which delivers results, sports psychology has to follow.

You train to improve your reactions and responses, your riding technique, why not your brain as well ? I'm sure some targetting and mind focussing would help me in biking and probably other areas as well.

I think i wouldn't as i generally ride for fun and only race local events, although if i failed to improve recreationally with my riding i'd consider paying for a few Q&A style consultations to try and find a problem and work from there myself, but nothing long term.

My main problem is struggling to commit to the unknown, which i've always put down to me being a wimp and not wanting to get hurt, but if there was more information available to show me that a few sessions could help me control that feeling (like that DW page) then it'd unleash a whole world of new riding for me and probably be worth it.

Cost dependent very interested!

I get stupidly nervous come race day, unable to eat properly which obviously means I'm no where near my best! Also as soon as I'm on a timed run I fluff everything, and seem to ride way worse than I did in practice sessions!

In short, no I wouldn't.  For all the sports I do, I'm a) not amazing at them, b) not really bothered about improving too much because c) I do them all for enjoyment primarily and d) I dont compete and dont want to.

I'm happy being a better mountain biker than normal, a slightly better snowboarder than normal etc. etc.

The only sport where I tend to appreciate advice is golf, but then I've only been playing for 2 yrs (and not at all this summer) and generally play with people much better than me anyway, so you learn quickly.
