Rather annoying!
« on: October 03, 2008, 17:04:27 PM »

I have a 450D and when I shoot in RAW and upload the photos onto my mac the B 'n' W shot I have taken are reverted back to colour. Is there any way to prevent this?Huh

Thanks

Not sure on how or why it happens, but in photoshop its a 2second job to put itinto black and white if you cant fix it.

Better off converting in photoshop anyway.  In camera B+W only uses the Red channel, whereas colour will save all 3 so you can utilise that.

It goes back to colour because RAW is exactly that... all the RAW data that your sensor receives is kept in the image, so although it's set to B&W, it's still actually taking them in colour, all your really doing is telling the camera you want to see the image in Black And White.
