bent linkage

I seem to be writing in this section more often than not  Grin

i have a linkage plate that is offset slightly. Would it be best to warm it up and then tap it square again.

i could use my college workshop so  should be able to measure the linkage accurately.
(it's offsett about a mm)

It might be a good idea to check the alignment of the rest of the rear end, the linkage bent for one reason or another, so the frame might be bent too.

nah all cameras broke at the mo'

would leave it but i just got fresh bearings in

as said it's about mm but not really visible looking at the component

was probably done with that bugger of a slide hammer on bearing extractor as last time it was in it was lined up fine

Take the rear end apart then re-assemble.  I had a similar problem with an old frame a while back, turned out that I had simply put one of the linkage bars in bacwards or something silly like that!

Undo and remove all the linkages on the bottom and remove the shock. After that the only thing holding it on should be the upermost linkage bolt. remove this by taking an allen key to it, and pull it out the other side. It might need a bit of persuasion as its quite a tight fit.

yeah sos forgot to say it was the main pivot, biggest bolt that i wanted to get out.

the axle that runs through the downtube on the frame is the one thats stuck but i think it's the one you meant
