well i'll 100% recommend getting a commencal mini DH (the old or new one)

Well i have a supreme FR but their essentially the same in ride quality

I'm a huge fan of how they ride, i like the fact that their quite short and the back end is extremely short making it piss to manual, super flickable etc. i could rabbit on about it for a while...

6" of travel and one hell of a versatile frame, get one, get one now

If you have proof of purchase, all specialized frames have a lifetime warranty... even if you don't have proof of purchase, must be worth a try, especially since it is a 2007 (i.e. not very old) being as I might have just saved you £600, my fee is a very reasonable £260.

You thought about an ironhorse 6point? I can't actually recommend it as i haven't tried it but when i was riding my brothers 7point it felt super nice. They basically have the same geometry so i don't see how it would differ too much. Just a thought.

I'd go with another SX Trail - the frame design may be getting on a bit, but to be honest I doubt you'll find a better frame for the £700 price that Freeborn are doing them for...

Few options flying around atm, but may go for the Blade with a coil shock.

Blade looks nice...but have you thought about the geo?  You're coming off an SX Trail which has a 66.5-67 degree head angle (if I remember right - but correct me if I'm wrong here).  The Blade frame isn't as slack so it may feel a little more 'twitchy' than you're used to and not so stable at speed.  I'm sure it would be ok, just something to think about.

As for the Bottle Rocket - yes, they are heavy but still a very capable bike.  One of my friends has switched from an 8 inch travel DH race bike to one of these and has not looked back!  Sure, it doesn't track quite as well in the really rough stuff, & it is a little less stable at high speed...however it is still very capable and amazing in the turns.  It was more than adequate for a weekend at Cwmcarn!

Personally I would go for another SX trail...or possibly look at the Commencal mini, Bottle Rocket (built up light) or even the 2008 Morewood Mbuzi if you can find one second hand.
