Basic Marz Roco R Coil Vs.others now!
« on: October 07, 2008, 15:58:10 PM »

Are they any good? Compared to a DHX 5.0?

EDIT:

Right, I can also get either a DHX 5.0 coil, or a Rockshox Monarch Air.

Monarch isnt much more, but the DHX is about £120 more (brand new from Mojo).

Which do I get? Is the DHX much better?

They're probably alright, but they're OEM which always makes them a bit harder to find out about. the main difference is the lack of adjustments in comparison on the roco, and that the roco doesn't have a platform at all whilst the dhx has an adjustable platform.

You probably knew all that though, as for how they ride, dunno Roll Eyes

EDIT: you do mean the R and not the TST R right?

I never touched the adjustments on my DHX, didnt notice the difference between Propedal fully on and off, only ever touched the Rebound (mainly physcological I think, didnt notice any difference in riding Cheesy), I dont notice differences that well Cheesy

Well, I currently run a Rocco R, and can honestly say it's better then the Fox OEM equivilant i ran. Much smoother, only changes i've made are some more air in it and tweaking the rebound.

On my old bike, i had a Rocco TST R, exactly the same as the R but it had a few more features. Performance wise - i'de go for the Rocco R, purely because the TST has one more feature that i hardly used as i couldn't really feel make any difference.

Yeah, think Ill go with the Roco R.

Col at MTB-direct says that I can swap it for a DHX (pay the extra of course) later if I want too.

Only thing about the Roco is I dont think this one has a external resevoir, so doesnt look as good... Tongue
