ok guys i have read some of the posts. i have a good knowledge of how this all works, so i'm gonna try and form the WDA... might not be called that cause thats the welsh development agency....

i will be contacting the SDA, Jason and  british cycling. i spoke to the person he's not getting on with today. i work at a south wales trail center and have regular contact with the biking fraternity. if you are serious about being part of the welsh DH association please e mail me at jt_sw81@hotmail.com or join the group on facebook.... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=26336077705

hopefully we can pick up on Jasons good work... it's just a shame it had to come to an end.

You seem to knw what your talking about but people have been discussing this for 4 pages and u join on the forth page and take into your hands to doing it..... Please discuss your plans and talk to the main guys in the thread such as Jlo4x who has done a good bit of work on this....

This has nothing to do with the forum and it was never a forum idea.

Jlo4X as much work as he has done has no more right than anyone else to head the "WDA" and as it is a team thing I'm sure if he was bothered he'd contact JT himself?

Oh yea and shut the f**k up you pathetic little kid, this forum is full of kids these days.

and the point for slagging me off for no reason was?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuh??

Yeah, tiny bit too far mono... I know it's annoying, but maybe he is just trying to help get involved in this?

And if it is a team thing then it sure isn't much of a relationship in it... So lets try to keep harsh comments to a minimum yeah?

it seems that alot of people are getting their local track involved some! thats awesum.. i have already heard of a few potentially new tracks, and people seem to be keen to get out there and build them!

however! the thing that needs to be sorted first is the association.. we need to get it set up so that we can go forward with the development of a race series. i am already on to that, so if there's anything you can find out about a local track that is great.. especially in places like taff buggy!

other ideas include a mini dh series... possibly without uplift, some 4x racing if we can get a track, maybe a festival/race weekend more races at different locations, regular build/maintain/train/meet up weekends. i want to focus on all aspects of downhill racing, i want to include beginners and maybe people who can't afford a £4k bike, but at the same time as offering a national level race series like the dragons was. but it's got a long way to go! first things first!

I'm on to taff buggies, i know the farmer a bit so when i get the chance I'm going to have a word with him, not sure what rules and regulations are involved with using a private track for races/uplift days ?

he was telling me before that i could book an up lift day there, not much but its a start.

theres loads of potential for a few good tracks there as well, but lets see what happens with the one that's there first

who would be up for doing an uplift day there if we can ? ? ?

Guys,

sorry been away and working for a few days so not had a chance to access email etc. JT has already contacted me and I'm happy with what hes doing. I wasn't atempting to control this at all just as Joe pointed out, get the ball roling. It looks like we have a very well respected FC liaison officer now also. Got to confirm things with him and JT first but will all be out soon.

EDIT: Another quick point, as James (JT) says we need to first get the WDMBA started as an accosiation before we even think of races! Lets not try and beat Usain Bolt's 100m record before we can walk eh. (All work and ideas are appreciated though!)

Cheers

James

Announcement

Rowan Sorrell has kindly offered to be our FC Liaison officer. He works with the FC a lot and knows them well. He is meeting with them next week and will be running it by them to let them know what is going on.

There are possibilities of new tracks/venues also.

ok guys here's the latest. i am speaking to BC, SDA and James lomax. i have also spoken to Rowan. i have a rough draft constitution drafted. so here comes the hard and somewhat serious part. i need to find initial committee members.... for the association to be formed i need the following...

A Chair person... i am putting myself forward for this as it will take alot of work.
A Treasurer... somone who is willing to deal with cash flow etc
A Secretary... someone who can record minutes, and deal with general correspondence.
An Events Coordinator... i think James has found me the right man for this.

If you would like to undertake a position, e mail me ASAP... BUT, YOU MUST, AND REPEAT, MUST BE COMMITTED AND ABLE TO MEET IN THE SOUTH OR MID WALES AREA! there is no point if you can't meet with us. after these for people have met and everything is in place we can call an AGM where other committee members will be appointed.

sorry that this is a bit boring, but if we are gonna do this properly this is how it has to be done! once we get the boring stuff over we can set about having a race series and other things but this is the first step.

so if you think your the person for the job, get in touch asap, or if you know someone who might be good at it, tell them to get in touch.

if anyone knows how to set up a web site really cheaply or free i would appreciate the help... i can't really rely on the facebook group as not everyone uses it.

Just like to point out after a few negative comments that any unnoficial Dragon Rd 5 (organised by myself and Pete - if it happens) would take place on private land and not be in any way detrimental to the FC or South Wales rider's relationship with FC.

Also I'd like to say I'm currently in charge of the Cardiff University mountain bike team, if there's anything we can do to help then give me a shout, I'm about riding in South Wales every week.

Excellent news, to have backing from a track builder who knows the FC and is an Elite racer is an excellent start...

Hi All,

Taken from Dirt website - http://dirtmag.co.uk/news/category/events/welshside-party/dirt-1234071.html

Would be a good event to kick start meeting on WDMBA for those who can get there?
