Just bought some brand new 888's about a week ago and only ridden on them about three times, took it into shop today to get my new headset fitted and they say that the bushing in the right leg are so bad that you can actually see it moving!!! Am in the process of contacting CRC now and hope that they will get fixed asap, I've read things about it taking up to 6 weeks for it to be repaired!!! Anyway, I don't recommend 08 888's lol!
Get some 06's then mine have been running smooth as you like for 18 months now. No oil changes, no seal changes, 3 races (as of next weekend) and plenty of wet weekends at the local woods.
Im sure crc will sort something out for you.]

yeah, they will be sent back with the same "play" my 08' 66's are the same. I contacted Windwave and they said over the phone, it's normal. And yet everyone else, including TF and my LBS have said it's to much, to be normal.

Normal in the sense that the apalling level of QC means this is the norm and as theres been no recall Windwave don't want to know. Maybe if you paid for them to be fixed then the story might be different but it looks like you're stuck with them...
Oh how the mighty have fallen...

Well it's your call however I wouldn't expect anything to get done based on the amount of people with the same problem...
Maybe see about sending them back saying they're not of the quality you expected (you're quite within your rights) and get a refund, spend it on a second hand set and a service. I can't see any reason that they can refuse you based on the fact that you can't identify the problem until they have already been fitted. I dunno you should be able to argue the case for new bushings regardless, if they're not fit for the purpose then they don't have a leg to stand on.

"I feel a little movement between the legs and the sleeves!
We have improved the best free ride and downhill forks. With 2008 models, Marzocchi has wanted to make perfect what seemed the best product available on the market: 888 and 66! The collaboration with top riders worldwide has allowed us to increase the performance of the hydraulic cartridge and the progression curve during compression and rebound. The notorious smoothness of the bomber models has been exceeded by the use of new bushings and seals which are able to offer a friction factor inferior to 30% and constant performances through time. When the bike is still the feeling is that of a little movement between the legs and the sleeves. This is an absolutely necessary space in order to always keep the sliding elements lubricated and no more perceivable during the usage. In fact the oil, once in pression, will take up the space between the bushings and the legs offering that incomparable feeling of movement which has rendered our forks the most appreciated ones by riders all over the world. Butter right out of the box even in 2008!"

arrgh, don't know whether to send them off or not cos I'll be without a bike for a bit and if they're just gonna come back the same..... or i do what said before and get a full refund
well the shop did it and they said it's quite a bit of movement, said you can see the leg moving, I've never noticed it when riding though, just noticed it when it's still. But I'm gonn go ride on it tomorrow, see what happens.
"Hi, I went to Leisure Lakes today and was told that the bushing in the right leg on my fork is very loose, so much that you can see the leg moving, now I've read it on your FAQ that this is normal, but I just wanted to make sure before I end up breaking them as the loose bushing is only in the one leg, surely it should be in both if it is a production intention.
