e.13 LG1- sizing
« on: October 09, 2008, 13:41:32 PM »

How does the sizing of the LG1 work?
Looking to get one used, and someone has told me;

"The LG1 I have is for 34-36 and the taco is 40t"

How does that work? Isnt the taco the only thing which determines its size?

I wanna use it with a 32T ring, will it work? Can I re-drill the mount holes on the taco to make it suit a smaller ring?

Can you get cheap replacement tacos? The only ones Ive seen are expensive (£25+) and are the coloured upgrades...

Thanks, Duane.

Also, anything wrong with running a ISCG 05 guide + BB adpater on a ISCG OLD frame?

Did you not read the advert again?

"Why a bigger taco? I had another LG1 on my meta 4x and used an appropriate sized taco but I must have slammed into something at a weird angle as my chainring made contact.

So, for this newer LG1 device I thought I would go with a bigger Taco to make sure I don't hit anything.
I'm just a crap rider so
"

I thought the guide was ISCG? But yes, using a bb adapter should be fine.

Yes, but ISCG 05/NEW, and the frame it should be going on is ISCG OLD.

No, but the adapter will push the guide out maybe 4mm, which means you might have problems with spacing. Swap the backplate for an ISCG(old) one if you can (seemingly unlike my fecking useless LBS).
