Too much beer and not enough riding . . .

Hadley Rear hub assembly
« on: October 10, 2008, 11:17:51 AM »

Just tried to fit the freehub body into the rear hub I have and I can't quite do it.  Its a 135mm hub, and the freehub consists of the main 'axel', with a screwed bit with an o-ring on at one end, and the other end has 4 small holes drilled in it (assume for the special tool), then there is a small spacer on the axel itself, then the freehub body.

When I put the axel thru the hub, with the spacer on the disc side, fit the freehub, the axel isn't long enough to screw the other end on.  When I dont use the spacer, it fits but looks like I'm missing something from the disc side to seal the bearings etc?

Am I doing something wrong, or am I missing something?  Anyone else done this?

cheers

i just serviced mine recently and just to note (while you have it in bits) that the needle roller in the free hub should be bathed in clean oil, when its running. Its worth cleaning and putting fresh oil in because they are £40 to replace (at NWMTB, the only place i could find who sells them.
