been out the game a while ,

avid out of stock of the correct part

can i use the shimano equivalent ?

203mm rotor , boxxer forks ...

I used an avid with hayes 9 and it fitted with out the trialign. The tri align goes either side of the calliper iirc. I will go check in the garage...

yes i understand the concept of the tri align charlie

its for a customers bike , before i order the wrong thing ..
surely the tri align means a different depth of adaptor to a shimano caliper which just bolts on  or am i being stupid ?

not fitting tri align is not an option

I had a hayes calliper on a avid mount without trialign or washers so i think it is the size of the avid callipers that lets you fit the trialign. So an avid on a shimano mount will still mean trialign fits.

This is the code for the Shimano one: 8CZ 0102

still in stock with Madision.

and yup its the caliper that needs the tri-align.  All the mounts are the same.
