all shimano shifters will work with shomano mechs,
Except for the Rocket and Attack (I think), which are designed for SRAM mechs.
X.9 wont work.
Pretty sure that's the wrong way around, the rocket and attack are SRAM shifters which work on a 1:2 cable pull ratio, i.e. shimano mechs. Though the idea of shimano making something compatable with someone else's kit is funny!

Lmao yeah, Im a muppet, even put up a link from SRAMs site!
Yes all Shimano mechs use the same actuation ratio so you could use XTR shifters with Acera shifters or vice versa althought that would be sacrilige! Just watch what cage length you get with the new Saint RR mechs as the short cage one has a limited range of Cassette teeth/multiple front chainring compatabilities
I thought I'd ask on this thread rather than open another.
I have an 11 - 32 cassette and xt cranks with a 22 and 32 rings (bash buard, no big ring) would the longer of the two new saint rear mechs work with the above?
