don't worry it doesn't last too long. i only had the pillow for like 3 nights, likewise with the painkillers. sucks that they have to operate, it must be a really gnarly break!
try not to think about biking too much otherwise it will get you down a bit.

that was fun, i went into opital yesterday morning for the operation, and then this morning, an hour before i was due to have it the doctor decided he would x ray it again and give it a rethink, and he deicded it wouldnt really help to have an op. needless to say im happy about that, because had i had one i would have been off the bike for three months!
luckily it should heal quicker without one, but if it does give me pain i will have to go in and have sugery, but at the moment its looking good- even though without surgery im going to have a big lumo where theres two chunks of loose bone now. however, i dont need the sling anymore and its not giving me any pain to speak of- its almost at the stage where i can sleep on the broken side.

Yeh having an op does add alot of time onto recovery, i broke min at the end of august and had an op, and im still not riding. I had my second op about 2 weeks ago to get the wires removed so ive only got another 2 weeks lef then im riding again  Smiley, so in total i would have been out of proper riding for 5 months :'(, but then like people at college say its self inflicted  Embarrassed. Hope everything goes well for you aswell.

Make sure you don't get too confident with it though! About 3 weeks in mine felt fine, no sling in day etc etc. woke up one morning and thought i'd stretch..... crack! back to square 1. Take it easy!

You know the worse thing I can rememebr about breaking mine was the 1/2 mile walk back to the nearest car park, with every step I could feel the bone rubbing on the skin underneath, that hurt more than the break itself!!  oh that and the embarasement of turning up to casulty in a bright pink tee shirt with 'feeling horny on the front' and having a nurse have to take it off, that was pretty embarrasing, caused a good few laughs down the pub that night tho, before I had to go get it fixed in hospital hahahahha  Grin
