Yeah I agree with a lot of these replies, there's loads of motivation to get out and ride;
- because it's fun and you spend all week at work dreaming about biking - because if you don't go you spend all the next week wishing you had - because it's fun and you see can see yourself progressing, likewise if you can only ride at the weekends and you miss a week or two you really notice the negative difference. - because it's a challenge, e.g. bad weather = harder conditions = more progression - because you love it
Amen to that! Watching a video/film is good as well. I just enjoy getting out to uplifts/local spot with my mates, pushing each other and just having a good laugh and having a laugh on the road to tracks Also racing really is one thing i look forward to/enjoy. I didnt do to well last season, only got a DH bike in march, which broke so i done my 2nd & 3rd races on borrowed bikes. But i'm getting quicker with experiance/confidence and just generally wanting to do better than my mates. When i race i just race for the fun, and the only realy competition is between me and my mates, althought it'd be nice to be 'up there' and i'm sure it's possible if i really want to get there so bad. I guess i should really be out riding just now But i'm tired and my legs hurt from yesterday

lots of stuff motivates me; seeing someone else riding, watching vids/progs of mtbing, reading mags etc but the most motivation i get is the need for an adrenaline and endorphin rush. i go to the gym 3/4 times a week, if i'm not there i'm doing mtbin, blading or something else to get the happy juices flowing (no dirty comments on that one guys please ) Boredom and the need to get off my arse and do something erm.. constructive? lol is usually what motivates me. must exercise must exercise must exercise must exercise!!!!!! Plus the fear of getting fatter
