From what I saw though the Pro II hubs only have 24 engagements on the rear, which is the same as the XC (and Deemax), which isn't good...

Has anyone used the Tune hubs in anger? They always seem to come up in these sorts of conversations but very few seem to have personal experience.

They are now imported through Zyro so dead easy to get hold of through your LBS, and cheap for all you shop employees Grin

for those guys saying that the tune stuff isnt up to dh riding then you should look into it more as nearly all there products were tested by a german dh rider who did a full season, national and international, on them

imo some hub manufacturers are slightly behind the times in terms of the range of hubs they do ie 150mm hubs ect in comparison to the number of frames that have 150/165mm rear dropouts

In my experiance the DT Swiss stuff, whilst being high quality are quite high maintenance, never used the tune hubs, but whilst in my LBS the other day we had a pair apart and all of the parts look and feel very high quality and it all went together well

DT Swiss dh hubs are very very light. You can get weights off the spoke calculator on their website. They are very expencive though. If you arnt a brand pimp then Magura sell the exact same hub but with Magura written on it instead of DT Swiss a little bit cheaper.

Yeah they were designed for Markus Klaussman (sp?) who raced world cups on them.
