Check the cassette is tight, sounds funny but my patriot was a noisy f**ker, turned out the frigging cassette was loose!!  Oops...  Now I have sram kit too so it's alot quieter...

Something about the expanding foam...  What happens if you want to get it powdercoated and they put it in the oven to harden, won't it catch fire?

gotta be careful with the foam, if you use too much it can damage the frame, as it trys to expand too much.

well it squirts, and it expands and insulates my house so im guessing yes to it working for what its designed for

but making your bike quieter im dont have a clue people have said it does

my gess would be yes as there is no holowness of the swingarm for the vibrations to shake around in making a racket but thats only my physics knowlege

Yes, I never thought about having it baked when its powdercoated Roll Eyes. That could be interesting, it was easy enough to do, 1 litre can of the foam will expand up to 1 metre square, so I only needed a little bit, I ran some plastic tube (heat shrink Grin) through the swingarm with goodridge hose through both sides to stop it getting crushed when the foam expanded and now it's nice an quiet, it used to drive mee mad Angry

thinking about the powder coating deal, im probably completely wrong and it wouldnt surprise me if i am, but couldnt you use some kind of solvent to eat through the foam, like super glue does to polystyrene? things like petrol and other eat through some plastics and paint so would it work with the foam

I'm sure you could, but why would you want to?

Or are you on about stripping paint? Nirtromors works a treat for that.
