mountain cycle put foam in there san andreas yrs ago as i found out when i got mine welded ans a very p'd off welded handed it me back after he nearly set it on fire lol . dont know if mountain cycle still do this on their frames but if they do get in touch with them and they will tell you the correct foam to use
Doh. Well then my guess would be simply to avoid powdercoating if your frame is filled with foam. Think there would be any use of filling the main tubes with foam too? Is the foam heavy?

I dunno if they still do, but I wouldn't have said my bike was all that noisy, so I guess they might. Still, I think they're under different ownership nowadays, so they might do things differently now.
I popped down to B&Q today, and bought some B&Q home brand 'expanding foam'. Only after squirting it all over the kitchen floor did i realise it's also adhesive...
Also be careful with testing it, as apparently it's a one use product, as the foam dries in the nozzle so you can't use it a second time. I cleaned mine out as much as i could once i realised, and i'll see when i try it if i've f**ked it.
yer, the sound isnt to bad... sometimes can get anoying when im riding mine, but the thing that does my nuts in is my floating caliper, and i cant do anything about the rattle on that!
tryed that, but i cant actualy get any grease imbetween the ball and joint bit, + the caliper has play in it (rocks back a forward ) i think it just needs new bearings... stil wana get a new swing arm though hahaha, then fill that one with foam lol
