bar choice, funn full on, azonic b52, EA70 etc
« on: December 21, 2005, 21:10:13 PM »

Hi guys, been a few years since I posted on here.

I quit dh and took up trials (well, I did trials before anyway) DH was too exspensive.

back to the point.....I am looking for some new bars.

I am liking the look of Funn's Full On bar and azonics B52 scandium bar.

I dont supose anyone has any views on these bars?

My reasons for liking them are the geo of them, I aint a big fan of lots of back sweep, but the more upsweep the merrier.

The Funn is very simular to Eastons EA70, but has slightly more upsweep and is a bit wider.
Anyone know the uk importer for Funn too?

I have no idea what geo the azonics have, but I have heard they have a generous ammount of upsweep, is this so?

Any other bars to look out for, they must have a 25.4mm clamp, about 1.5-2" rise, and as I said above, a little amount of back sweep, but plenty of upsweep?, also the wider the better.

cheers

Al

now now, please take your handbags outside Wink

eastons are good, but I would have to make some bar exstenders (only half an inch either side though).

I say eastons and the funs are simular, I only really meant in geo terms, they both have 8 degree backsweep, the easton has 4 degree upsweep and the funn have 5.5, which is why I prefer it a bit more.

I do like eastons strength though.....dam this is a hard desision.

(oh, I can also get both the eastons and azonics at trade price, so if anyone can find out the importer and price on the funn bars I would be most thankful)

ta, but I aint too keen on carbon bars. I ride lots of rocks and fall off quite often resulting in my bike bouncing down the hill side. My current bars have a load of nicks in them, I am sure I would kill a carbon bar pretty quickly.

I have pretty much decided on some funn bars, but all comments are welcome.

i'd say EA70s i've got 2prs only bars i havn't bend yet!

But i do like the look of the azonics and a scadium alu is ment to be really strong on par with ea70s, also look at Protapers, exeactly the same material as EA70s but slightly differant genometry
