Some time ago theres was a long thread on here about E&L and iirc the general consensus was avoid them at all costs. From what I know Cycleguard seem to be ok. Regarding Wheelies Direct, I agree with Squirrelking. I think the situation is that if you get your bike nicked your insurance company will get them to provide what they see as an equivalent bike. What the insurance company doesn't tell you is that you're not legally obliged to accept that, you can put your foot down and say you want something from your LBS as you've always used them etc.

FREEDOM BIKES DAKINE SPY OPTIC BROOKLYN MACHINE WORKS
Oh I managed to get a custom build alright, it just took them a month after the delivery date to get it to me. It wasn't even fully assembled (after they'd moaned for 3 weeks about building it) , the rims were wrong (can live with that), the spokes were too long (maybe not that though), the shifter was a gripshift shoehorned so the brake lever was about 4 inches above the grip and a host of other things.
They never did sort any of that out...

m+s are who i use...covers bikes up to 4k-all they asked me to do was keep upto date pics of the bike, and a spec list, so if it did get nicked i could prove its value... it also covers accidental damage... Frizzel house insurance are meant to be good too-you can get the bike added to a policy for not a great deal more... hth ed
