Combe Syd's Practise Day...
« on: February 26, 2006, 22:27:15 PM »

Just finished watching day 5 of 24 after an afternoon sessioning the new re-vamped berm after the step down at combe syds.

Me Si and Phil decided it was time to sort the first right handed berm out, and you can absolutely blat it round now.... those who rode them today do you reckon they are an improvement??

Did anyone get any photos today by the way......

No problems next time we see you will be fine. Sorry we went without seeing you but we had a phone call to say that the sheep had done a runner while we were out and they were in the neighbours garden.
If anyone tries to contact me my computer is down and i have lost everything its away being sorted. I am working from my lap top and cant pick up e mails at the ;moment but we are working on it.

The people that were riding at Combe on Saturday very nice of you to throw your rubbish int the porta loo that we had paid for. Dont worry we got ride of your rubbish before the landowner saw it.

Who ever was doing the wheelies in his car park and churned the grass up well done he is looking to ban you from Combe.

In fact the Saturday lot did no one no favaours.

A huge thanks to Oggy for a brilliant Sunday and so many youngsters with smiling face as they jumped the road gap and the step downs.

Hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

guessing the damage to the grass was done on saturday?

would assume the rider would have been told to stop it if it was on sunday.

still things seemed to go quite well on sunday, know what you mean about the road gap, maybe get a few more hours on my balfa before i try things like that again  Roll Eyes

still good event guys.

Another Good day with the Smart Coaching gang. At least it didnt rain but swore I saw 2 polar bears and the odd ice berg in the lake Grin

Big thanks to Oggy and crew, its a long drive down to Somerset from oop north! Think everyone learnt something and had a good time doing it.

Nice to see everyone helping with the uplift truck and the older/ experts helping the young kids and keeping an eye out for them.

Yes the damage was done on Saturday nothing to do with us. One person was doing handbrake turns on the grassy car park churning it up. Also, several people that visited did not put the money for riding in the box. This just puts up the costs for the rest of us.

I live in bridgwater and am traveling to shropshire regularly for uplifts. Where is Combe Syd and when/what regulations are there for riding?

Thanks,

James.

To get to Combe Syd, you drive to Taunton and follow signs for Minehead. You go past the army camp at Norton Fitzwarren and keep on going, past the turning to Bishops Lydeard, keep going, keep going, and then you'll see after probably 10 mins a road which goes off to the left under the railway line, and its signed Combe Sydenham Country Park. You take that road and follow it until it ends at a crossroads at the bottom of a steep road. You turn right there and drive through Monksilver. You follow the road down the side of the valley and you'll see Combe Syd on the left, it has a big entrance way with "combe sydenham country park" written on it.

You can ride there any time, except int he Shooting season, and you must put

hate to contradict but the best way from bridge water is to just follow the A39 untill you get to williton, then start looking for a sign for combesydenham country park (one of the brown tourist signs) [if you get to washford you have gone to far.] take that left and just head for monksilver you realy cant miss it.
