gi hubs are supposed to be abismal. i havent had any experience with them myself, but there have been lots of complaints about them.

im not sure about the halos though

but ye, you lot feel free to shoot me down in flames if you own a GI hub thats good. just what i heard.

GI rims are gash, bought them on a whim for my old hardtail. Both have now split at the weld and they are not eyleted so half the spokes are pulling out as well. Proper tripe.

No experience with the hubs though.

Ya as the others said your best bet would be to get the sas.

my mate has the 48 spoke wheel set and its pretty good. The hub has been fine and the rim is a little buckled but nothing serious. And he's a pretty heavy rider.....proper strong build......go for the halo

the street rims seem to be fine, strongest wheel i've ever had in the 36h pattern but it was built well (a la my build) The sas are too heavy imo but halo hubs are pretty slick

I haven't had any problems with 32h tornado rims on halo hubs and the SAS can only be stronger?

I have no experience of either rims you mention, but the Sun MTX rims are mint. Not too heavy, and pretty strong. And they look way better than the SAS rims too. But they are disk only, so if you use a rim brake then they'll be no good for you.

got a couple of the 20mm front hubs, and they're going strong so far.

heard nothing but bad things about the others though...

i'd personally say go for some 36h atom lab trailpimps instead of the GIs or halos

are the gi street rims as strong as the trailpimps? if they are then get them cz my trailpimps lasted alot longer then my sas, but sas stil lasted a while, considering its the wheels i learnt to backflip on so they took a right hammering

streets aren't as strong as trailpimps, they tend to stay true but they do ding rather easily because of the height of the sidewalls

If its a 26" your after you cant go wrong with a second hand hope hub on a mavic rim, it will last you forever. Dont get the atom lab hubs, biggest waste of money ive ever seen, they seem to be made out of cheese.
