What are you using it for? Full wheel build ie: hub, rim and spoke suggestions? You building it?

Need a little more info first.

729s are very good but you could get a bombshell rim or arrow racing rim if you want to be different. both are very strong

Ok well you've plenty of options,

Rims - Mavic 729 or 823, Sun MTX, DT Swiss 6.1,

Hub - Hope ProII, Hadley, Goldtec Draco, Chris King, Ringle Abbah,

Spokes from plain guage Halos, to Sapim X-rays.

All depends on how much you want to spend.

-edit- Well done Ross down there, I didn't see the

If you want light good quality rims - Sun Rhyno lite XLs are the way to go. Weigh something like 520grams, and mine have survived very well indeed to my cack-handed riding. Not too expensive either.

Singletracks are ok, but heavier than Rhynos - plus they seem to buckle easily. MTXs are great, but again much heavier.

Running a singletrack on the rear and an MTX up front, both seem to be holding up nicely and they have taken a beating, but as Ads said they are comparitavely heavy compared to some of the other choices available.

Don't mean to cause any offence to any one here runnign Halo SAS but my experience of them has been abismal(sp?) My mate bought one, week old and all the spokes had come loose and not in the normal bedding in loose, his freewheel moved up and down about 5mm and once he got it retightened it bent like chesse riding down stairs and no he wasn't the riding it hard or abusing it. Thats my thought anyway, I'd say go for Mavics, definetly 729s but if you on a budget see if you can pick up some old D321s.
