The 200-250 mark will almost definatley be for cameras being sold second hand like canon 300D/350D's, nikon D50/D70's, there wont be any new down that low yet.

you could considder getting a 35mm slr? Unless your dead set on Digi, theyr worth a think. Look out for the likes of the eos5, pic up the body for around a hundred quid.
Do you know what the quality of this is like? I just can't be bothered with scanning in any more. And plus do they give you the negatives aswell? 'cause i need to archive them.

I've heard Canon D30's are pretty good and cheap?
OM10's are good, best with a manual adapter though I have one without it and it means if I want to over/underexpose the pic I have to change it on the ISO dial. Just get one that has a working shutter, some can get a bit sticky.
I had my first go at using my OM10 + 50mm prime for bikes the other day, here's three pics on HP5 pushed to 800iso nothing special but it's a 20 year old camera!

If you don't mind buying a few bit's and learning a tiny bit, then you could develop B+W films yourself for very little, but of course you would need an enlarger or scanner to scan the negs in.

Have you looked at a minolta dimage 7hi, 5 mega pixel camera with 28-200mm lens, will do everything a slr will, except you can't change the lens, but it has full manual controls. I have learn't a lot with mine and am now upgrading to a slr. It takes some amazing photo's. I'm selling mine for
