Spoke Lengths
« on: March 02, 2006, 14:32:44 PM »

Right guys, got some stuff on the way to me, and I need to know what size spokes to order in. I have looked on the DT Swiss site for the spoke calculator and it does not have the Sun MTX in 24 or 26 inch sizes. Could anyone who knows how to figure out the sizes tell me what length ill need when im using the following:

Front:

Hadley Racing SDH Front Hub 20mm
Sunn MTX 24"
DT Swiss Standard Aluminium Nipples 16mm long (so either 2mm or 1.8mm dia spokes)

Rear:

Hadley Racing SDH Single Speed Hub 10mm Ti Axel
Sunn MTX 24"
DT Swiss Standard Aluminium Nipples 16mm long (so either 2mm or 1.8mm dia spokes)

In three cross please.

Also if anyone could tell me how to remove eyelets from the MTX's it would be good so I can get them polished and anodized.

Oops noticed you have tried the dtswiss one:D it does have the 24/26 selection as i measured mine on there.

another thing try to stay away from alu nipples! they arn't much lighter maybe 20grams over all on both wheels if that! Also they round easy so you can't get as much tension on the wheels. Try the dt swiss prolocs as they are brass and won't seize.

also why 16mm long? It will make it harder to get spokes. Generally wheels use 12mm ones! and thats what i'd recommend
