Yeah, noise ninja is good, but i use software called neat image.

As for the Nikon flashes, I'm sure they're good... but a flash is a flash really. I have a Canon speedlite 580ex, and I barely use any of the features on it. The only thing I do find useful is the ability to vary the power output, but I'm sure lots of other flashguns will do that.

Check out the Sigma DG500 Super for a good buy!

I found it far from ideal

a) It didnt converse very well with the camera.
b) Would go off on little programming jaunts of it's own.
c) It was lucky not to get hurled into a tree on several occasions.

I'm not  fan of the sigma flash either. I've used mop head's which i think used to be jims on my 300d. Half the time it decided it dint want to work. Then when it did work it used some random settings not what i told it to.
My 550Ex is so much easyer

300D

I will never use a Sigma Flash ever again.

I'm sticking with my 550. If/when that dies I will get the 580 or whatever exists at that point.

dedicated flashes are ideal, If you arent competent then it can do the exposure for you and if you like you have full manual control, the 580ex has a huge ammount of manual adjustments and custom functions along with the best automatic metering you can wish for in
