bombers dont have cartriges, theyre an open system. you can strip the damping rod out, and replace just the damping rod. im pretty sure windwave can still get hardware for most marzocchi forks.

'bombers' eh? go back to school, the crap end of the marzocchi range uses SSV (aka pumped rods)

Ladies ladies, yes, you may spell Bomber like that, but the fork isn't called a Bomber, it's a Z1 BAM, or 66, or Z1 Drop Off, Z1 Freeride, or whatever the fork may be called, not Bomber, that's what chav's call them, and that's what Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeev was getting at.

stage 1 grind down remainder of the threads on the cartridge/rod

stage 2 centre punch in the centre and drill with a 7.5 or 8 mm drill bit(cant remember what i used)

stage 3 using an old quill stem wedge bolt  cut approx 2" of the thread off

stage 4 tap the cartridge with the right size tap to fit the wedge bolt you cut

stage 5 screw into the bottom of the cartridge

stage 6 using a nut that is usually usedon old seat clamp bodies (13/14mm) screw onto the wedge bolt and lock it against the cartridge

stage 7 re-assemble and the jobs a good-un

have done this to a couple of my mates forks when they have been skint and it works a treat

'bombers' eh? go back to school, the crap end of the marzocchi range uses SSV (aka pumped rods)  they are not a crap end fork. So please unless you have solid information dont post something undermining already posted statements! because you might be wrong, like in this case  Grin

i stand corrected they do run cartridges, part no. 11 on the exploded diagram.

p.s. bombers eh, yes thats how you spell bombers, maybe you too should go back to school, and attain you GSCE english, you may be able to spell cartridge then. please also explain what exactly is a 'pumped' rod, is it something like you over inflated ego, or did you mean, damping rod?

hahaha, may spelling may not be top notch buddy, but at least i know what im talking about to be honest, so perhaps NEXT TIME you can actually know what ytour talking about  instead of giving out dodgey information on a set of forks, you clearly know nothing about.

8 posts in and you're already posting wrong basic tech stuff and slagging off other people. Not a good start. The tech advice forum is already plagued my stupid inaccurate posts so PLEASE don't post advice unless you know what you're talking about.

Yep, that will work, but I found easy outs are cheaper and work better, also, as has already been said, make sure it's not a stud, in which case the whole cart will need to be replaced.

Except the marzocchi 'Z' series forks were known as Marzocchi Bomber Z(number). Hence why this fork has BOMBER written down the side of it. What have chavs got to do with anything? Jeysus.

No way? Roll Eyes  I say chav's cause they tend to recognise "bomber's" as good forks, which they are, but people "in the know" tend to call them by their model, not the Bomber bit...

for marz spares head here

About the best place I've found so far and if they don't list a bit your after e-mail them they maybe able to get it for you...

It's hardly worth bothering with Windwave, they will not sell direct to the consumer, they'll tell you the part number you need and tell you to go to your LBS and pay top whack...

Good luck

If it's '98 they're just straight Z1 BAM's, nothing more.
