cant be assed reading all that but i had the same hunt on my hands a couple of months back and i would without doubt go for the 350d over the nikon agian. ive got a 2gb ultra II card.. id also advise that if your trigger happy and out for a weekend without a pc to download to Smiley

As for write speeds, I don't know about you but using bog standard cards, I've never had a problem?

not sure 16mbs or something does that sound right? its just very fast Cheesy and yeah your looking at 1000s be hard to fill put it that way. you also get a free 256mb card with your canon

Your 2gb card will hold 590 RAW files?! Crickey.. my 1GB card can only hold about 150 off my 20D..

I said highest quality large Jpegs, nothing about RAW Tongue


It will hold 190 RAW files...

It's only an estimate as far as I'm aware, so depending on what the content of the pictures is, it could be more or less, or just down to the NEF format?

go for the canon mate... they're a lot better camera's imo. My dad has a 350D and loves it. Then again he had another canon before that and says it is just his personal preference. I havn't used the D50 or D70 but i do know that the canon takes excellent photos.
Also if you already have one i think the lenses are all compatible with different cameras.  Smiley
