yea i think it does, go on the sony site and download the manual? Personally I would get something with lanc tho so you can use a remote with the helmet cam so you can leave it in your bag

Cheers mate, much appreciated. I found this somewhere on the dpeths of the web which seems to agree with you;

"In addition, there's analog AV input, which allows analog footage to be copied to DV tape, or even channelled straight into a DV system via FireWire as a live feed."

I've got a DCR TRV 22E, which has the AV in and LANC.  using an RF Concepts bullet cam and LANC sport wirede constroller  (which is a must have!).  find a model of camcorder you want and look on jessops website 2nd hand section.  i got the above (400 quid new retail) camcorder for 160 quid, 1 year old, and it came with a 12 month warrantee from Jessops.

it works well but can be fragile if packed too tightly in.  leave it loose in the rucksac with some bubble wrap around it so it can move a bit an absorb the shocks.  i packed it in too tightly and the vibration killed it after two rides, got it repaired and packed it as described above and it's been fine since.
