mtn ash is great, its fast and flows really well with a good mixture of open flat out corners and more technical singletracky bits.

nothing seriously sketchy 1 of the drop off and maybe the slab that spits you ono 1 of the fire road sections could trip you up but thats it.

the bottom section was destroyed during some deforrestation, or so it is said. when i rode there the bottom was mostly wide dusty fire road, sounds boring but i liked it.

its pretty lengthy, pedalling is a must and you dont get much of a rest anywhere on the way down but its fun fun fun

i've heard that chavs are everywhere at nt ash with air guns, nd they put logs in the middle of the track before you race, and through stones at you???

seriousely dude, from living here (i can see the track from my attic window) i can tell you that the kids round here are absolutely f*cking annoying. ALWAYS leave your van/car etc locked up and contents hidden, keep the bike with you at all times and dont leave that laying around.

uh yeah, watch out for the logs on the track. i know the kids who done it last year (sadly..they were in my school) and they thought they were big and clever.  the air rifle thing isnt really an issue, although it had been rumoured. its more of the log-on-track thing that they like. idiots.

anyway, have fun at mountain ash. for people racing the dragons, its usually the first track they race at! go slow, its fun, go fast as hell, and its even more fun!

you'll definately like it. i gotta get up there sometime soon (having a cracked bike dont help mind)

they had knices two years ago, bit of a downgrade but I suppose with gun laws it's getting harder to nick isn't it 

yeah bob, its less of an issue now than it was before. my wording was slightly poor and i missed a bit!i dont think i heard of anyone getting hit in the last race there.
ah the mountains in mountain ash are always on fire. how d'ya think the trees below the bus stop section are gone?! black, and ash. lovely scenery.

hope the thread wont turn into a slagfest Ryan. I mean, Mtn Ash is a wicked course in all types of weather, its just the select few locals who ruin it.

There's nowt wrong with the track, find the last bit boring when you come out into the open. Not sure why as it hasn't changed much since being felled.

Locals are quite annoying but it all adds to the comedy of the day!!!

Really debating whether or not to do it at the moment. Doing well in an xc series and the dates clash. Might do the saturday and race xc on the sunday... choices choices
