Thing is, if you actually look at how they have deformed you can see he actually did have them on the right way around....

m4s according to the other photos.
Argh!! i use those and i have 5 bolt rotors which will be even weaker. It's a good thing i'm not ham fisted when it comes to using my brakes on a dh run othewise i would be screwed if what Ads reckons is correct.

Its not a one off weve had 4 rotors come back to work from mono mini's and m4 and hope have now beefed up the around the spider.

If you think about it on a long hard descent they heat up which soften them, any imperfections are going to get worse and the metal will get softer
but then again brakes survive that all the time so this guy must have been using a metal bar through the disc instead of pulling the lever
