great news for cycling. who cares whether he was clean or not in 99- the main thing is, he is going to be clean this year and hopefully this could be a good kick up the butt to really clean the sport up

one interesting side note might be how treks budgetry plans look for 09. He will ride on a trek there can be no doubt, but that might put paid to a high profile downhillers budget ! Trek are big but the budget for road is astronimcal and will their share holders really tolerate a high profile DH team when the return is insignificant compared to how many trek road bikes they will sell

only thing that worries me is if he fails he will be known as lance the man who failed to make a come back ....

not lance the legend who won the tour 7 times ....

he said it him self in his books "quit while your a head and keep a good reputation"

Though it could be the same sort of thing.. reading the book he isnt one to do things by halves, and there arent really any outstanding riders there who have dominated the events, so I reckon he's in with a good chance.
