I run mine soft and slow out back, and a little harder and pretty fast up front. I have zero scientific basis for this, just that it feels nice and offers a pretty good "oversteer" attitude when it does let go in the corners.

I found the best thing to do was to make some plastic labels up at work and write my settings on them. Have a few runs, change one thing at a time, see what works, what does not work etc.

I was always a "set and forget" man before I went to France, but out there I was messing about with rebound and high speed compression halfway down Les gets 1, the braking bumps were that bad!

Your bike seemed pretty hard to me out in France Al.

im a self confessed perfectionist when it comes to setting things up.

on the bb7 im running a 350lb (im 9.3stone) and about 90 psi in the shock with a small air volume and slowish rebound.

on the monsters iv got some very strang internals so i dont know but its realy just all dials set to off. and 6.5 weight oil in them (good fork oil is a real benifit)

the back is sorta soft with the front harder and faster this stops the bike trying to buck me as it was at first (tho that might have been to do with me)

im under the recomended sag on it as i just can stand the wallowyness of 3 inches of sag, ash says i sit "on" my travel rather than in it. so i guess this is a vote for harder.

ballence is very important as well, if the sus feels imballenced it wont help. But a slihtly stiffer front end never threw anyone over the bars, a soft front and hard rear on the other hand.....

well every one that has ridden my bike so far loves the feel of it so im sticking to a medium slow back and harder faster front.

you knows it ady boy, BOOOOOOOOSH  Wink

Its the first 'major' reform the dhr has seen in a good few years, and the fact that its having over a pound of lard removed, and looks (imo) much better than the old box with go faster stripes is reason enough for me.  Smiley

fairly hard at the back, otherwise it can feel very wallowy, and i like to go and feel fast. like to have the forks and the rear at about the same stiffness. i had a go on a mates vpfree, whos a good bit bigger than me, when he had his new stiffer spring on, and it rode really nicely because it didnt wallow about.

i also prefer a faster harder ride because i ride bmx a lot, so im used to using my body for speed and absorbing drops, so i just want the sus to help me grip on corners and absorb the little bumps.
