Jay says Goodbye to Bikes..........for now, maybe...
« on: September 26, 2006, 22:00:43 PM »

Well, as most of you will know and some of you wont, i had my (Pimpin, lol) Intense M3 stolen out in France, at the begining of August... 10 bikes in total were stolen, amounting in a nice figure of about 40,000 pounds worth....
Mine alone hit a lil under 6k by the time it was finished...

Anyway, after assuming your pride n joy is locked up nice n safe in a garage under your challet, the bloody garage gets broken into....

The f**kers take most of the bikes, Jay and fellow friends go f'ing mad, French spastic police come round, pretending like theyre actually going to do something.... They leave...   You get assured by your Challet organiser/owner that everything will be covered.... was it s**t!!!!

Get a phone callsometime after that the insurers arent gonna pay for anything! Mutherfuckin great!!!

Something about personal property not being insured on the premises.... i can understand property in rooms etc, or left on the balcony etc... but locked up in the garage of the Chalet... whats that about!

Anyway, i was kinda calm bout it all, but now its starting to hit me, and i feel to hit someone else... f'ing Hard!

So for now, im done with bikes, had enough with it all.....  some may say im being stupid, but its just left a bad taste in my mouth, and feel i need a break from the bikes....

Anyway, jus felt like a moan, so there u go..... Ull also see alot of my kit up for sale V.soon... New Black Dainese upper body, New TroyLee Daredevil, etc, etc... will be in the classifieds....

So for now, Lataaaaaaa

If i was in your situation, i'd feel the same. There are less painful, cheaper hobbies about. Like crack..  Wink

Feel for you mate, i got mugged for a grands worth of jump bike when i was fifteen years old, its horrible and still makes me angry now.
Might be a weird way of looking at it matey but it may help think that in the scale of things a 6k bike is small fries. You have a roof over your head and enough food and water and a t.v. Thats something i always try and remember when things go bad and it makes you realise how lucky you are compared to alot of people in third world country's/think of people that got caught by that big tsunami and how they lost everything.
It still sucks that your bikes gone and i hope the people responsible get every std under the sun.
If giving ups what you gota do then good luck to you, just dont go taking up golf or i'll personally come and hunt you down :-)
p.s why is golf called golf.......cus the name s**t was already taken.
take care matey and remember its not the end of the world.

Very sorry to hear about your loss, and it is understandable how you feel. Shame to lose a rider, hope you find your way back in a little while.

Best of luck,

hey jay
feeling like you by now...worst my bike was in that lot too.
mine was a  spunking turner dhr with enough bits on it for ride with a smile .
gone as well the others 9 bikes...
5 grands later...it s hard to get funds like that too, only memories

we won t come back on how doddgy the secure storage was and and fool we have been to trust the
chalet, that was part of the deal i suppose, but a word of advice to the holidays makers for next time

trust only yourself, don t  be fooled by the nice pictures on the web...
the ressort is full of crooks, waiting the opportunity to act, sometimes with insiders.
but it seems that was the biggest heist in one go, thought they didn t have to work hard.
the holidays rep didn t even phone to me yet to announce the insurance part (still a dodgy fact)
so it s mean i am screw too, nice to do buisness with these people

as well how that happen. by now yah, 40k of bikes gone because the chalet was not secure.
what da f**k i want some explanation too, but the ownwer of the buisness don t care

i may as well do what he done, open a buisness, get holiday maker with nice stuff and maybe organize a robbery, at the end, i ll tell them the bikes are gone and good bye !!!! no insurance !
this is what it is about !!! sorry to think this way but my bike disappered suspiciously
ok bikes are getting stolen everywhere and here and there, but sorry guys, not in such circonstances,
inside the chalet, at night, they break a 5 pounds window and voila, it s all gone, like that ?
insurance...well apparantly the chalets, are not insured for holidays makers bike...

it can happen to anybody, and the worst, we didn t loose our bikes drunk or at the supermarket,
our bikes get stolen inside the chalet premises, do i have to mention that none of the guides bikes and their friends get nicked ?
i am not giving the name of the buisness for don t excite the fools, but i will if some people are concern about the security and pride in their bike, and  it can be exposed

jay buy a supermoto or MX bikes, same money, wicked fun and that make you feel with a big thing between your legs anytime you twist the right handle
Piss and Love..

shame to hear it Sad  i know what its like to have bikes stolen from you just like why?? these people are only going to go and sell these for a tenth of what you paid for it and buy some crack or petrol for their little moped thing. these days i don't go out alone on my expensive bike, i don't lock it up anywhere but in my garage and i don't go blabbing around "oh, my bikes worth loads of money bet you wish you owned it" and there you go two weeks later its gone.

could moan on for days about this but it won't do any good, real big shame to hear it though just buy a crappy old xc rig and do what you can on that for now just to keep you sort of motivated in a way

Have you been to a solicitor and exhausted every possible avenue of getting your money back? There must be something you can sue for?

I don't know how you guys feel because I've never been in that situation but I can imagine it's gut wrenching.

I'm sorry you've decided to call it a day (for the time being anyway), it's a shame that the actions of one or two people have ruined it all for you so much.

Hope you find something that you enjoy to take the bikes place and in the meantime I'm going to check out the classifieds to see if I can grab a bargain!  Wink

Sorry, Shoot me down in flames call me a tw*t whatever...

you didn't ask for tem to be stolen, But come on Folks common sence !

IF you botthered to insure them (Very expensive when your talking about a 5 grand rig ) and read the small print, i bet a pound to a peice of poo it would of mentioned being locked to an non movable object, or locked inside it's own room, A shared garage don't count....

every time i have been to france we are surounded by people just leaving there pride and joy lying arround,,,, would you leave your bike unlocked out side your local tesco while you poped in for a loaf of bread,  no i didn't so .....

So why are so many of us people that worked so hard to pay for these bike suddleny stuck down by sheep mentality...

If you are that worried take that massive lock you must have at home....  ( theres all ways a way, befoure you start bleeting about the weight )

And use the sodding thing !!!

Final word,,, i am very sorry that you had your bike stolen, i just wish we " the biking people" as a whole whould just wise up and start locking the dame things like you do at tesco.
