You are quite right about not using un raced or untryed courses, which is why the Pearce series will use the Kinnerton track first. It is only the track that is unsorted the uplift and everything else is, including hardcore into the entrance of the field Wink

There will also be an uplift the weekend before the race

There is no legal reason why land within National Parks cannot be used, and land within them is mailnly privately owned.

eg Rugog
Combe Sydenham
Avill Ball

It just needs local people to go out and look!

true Dave........ its just that I live smack bang on the boundary of the Peak National Park, and know people up in the Lakes....... no way we could build anything up here. But I spose thats more to do with the watercompanies who own most of the land.

but we are looking Wink

local areas to me would be

Leckhampton [ cheltenham ] has a good downhill cource and there are a good crew of builders up there but may just be too much work to sort out. and I have also always thought that the Forest of dean is a perfect pelenty of room to increase the track length as atm its a little short. Great facilitys huge car park, bike shop, cafe, showers etc and a really sweet gap jump at the bottom of the downhill run to sort the boys from the men![ good photo opertunitys even though i know its all about the racetimes for you guys].

no offense fella,

but I grew up in Cheltenham, and rode on Lecky every day for about 10 years, I was even back riding there over Christmas for a few days, and I know the Forest of Dean pretty well.

the problem is whilst the two places you've mentioned are great for playing on, they are not really full on courses that are of a national standard.

That's it.  There are some tracks around which are great fun to ride but not a challenge in any sense.  I mean, take Combe Sydenham; it's a  good and is the best the area has to offer but it is not in any sense a National level track.  Tracks for the national series should be chosen based on what they offer to the competitor and ultimately the sport.
