Seeing as im new to this forum i dont mind 

If the previous information in the topic is relevent i see no reason why you should not reply or add to an older thread, this will mean you do not have to blabber on again when you may have posted information on a topic a few months/weeks ago.

However in the for sale section this should not be the case, this is where a PM should be used as not everyone checks the dates and could mean an item sold long ago gets exposure again.

i think what has triggered this topic is a certian new member called kiddy1, who has dug up thousands of old threads just to say "meh" or "boo hoo". what a great contribution...

The Barnard's right and so has motorider2, despite me PM'ing him and asking him not to do so.

Yes that'll teach the little wotsit.

If enough people hit the "report to a mod" button we can deal with these problems much better, so keep grassing the muppets up and they shall get their just deserts...

Ron, he wasnt actually replying anything useful in this case. He simply dug up about 5 topics but replying just with "Meh" as his answer, so that was useless. If he had provided anything useful or new to the question noone probably would have noticed the age of the topics in question.

So we can see the threads and delete them. If people didn't post sold and moved them back to the top the classifieds would be CHOCK full of old sold items. By bumping the to the top with "SOLD" we see them a lot quicker and can rmeove them sooner. 

Sorry to cuase you so much hassle, it seems to have worked for ages. If you see a thread saying "SOLD" in it, don't get all stroppy, life's too short. instead click the "Report to moderator" button and say it's sold, this will get our attention and we will remove it ASAP. We can't be everywhere at once you see
