4X track progress report
« on: November 02, 2006, 18:30:34 PM »

Right everyone

I'm meeting with the forestry commission on Saturday morning to put some ideas forward for a 4X track that is soon to be built at Sherwood Pines Nottingham.

The area has already been cleared but the track hasn't been designed yet and there is a JCB waiting.

If you give me some of you innovative ideas that you would like to see  I'll put them forward and see if i can get them to include some.

You have until Midnight tomorrow (Friday) as the meeting is at 8.30 A.M. Saturday

I look forward to hearing different people's creativity

Paul

this is a description of the track

if i can remember there is a
ramp going down from the gates
a few small humps
a big berm turning back on itself
a few humps
a turn 90 degree to the leftto a drop off  think about 4 foot
a few humps
berm to the right
humps
burm to the left
humps to a steep hill with humps on it

not the best description i know but i tried my best

i like the fact that its quite flowing and it has a drop off on it i think this is unusual ina 4x track

A crossover jump like Hornton hill so if you dont want to jump it you go through the middle

i think its got to be:
start ramp to double
sweeping berm to a step up double
huge double with a small double on top ( ie you can roll then jump top double or jump the lot)
tight switch back berms
a pot hole section with raised humps scattered across track ( entertaining and differcult line choices)
triple jump
more berms ( tight and fast)
table tops
step down to finish

Thats my ultimate track!

not dangerous at all, you could ride through the middle while people jumped over and still have head room Grin

got to have a big stepdown (7-10 foot) about 10 foot after the start gate, then some nice doubles, berms etc and that crosssover jump should be put in somewhere, a big 360 degree spiral berm would be pretty sweet but probarly way too hard to make (pretty dangerous aswell).

That line was sooo slow.
All I want is so nice doubles, fast berms and some tech jumps e.g step up to step down, triples etc. Go play a motocross game you'll see what i mean
