The first place we data logged the models you see in the photo's was gawton. They've only been to oxford woodland once or twice mabey? That was for a company ride and nothing more.

a company ride lol, you dont take a bike up there on numerous occasions with all the digital data on it to log the suspension system iv personally seen this bike being test riden up there many of times, on a flat hill  Wink

i agree with what 223 says its just taking to long for production of this bike to come out and personally dont think its gonna live up to the hype, this is just my opinion  Tongue

Is this bike not already 'in production' now though - there are adverts for it in Dirt...?

Or am I wrong?

They really should just sell them and get them out there!

yeah i actually really like the look of these, and any company using Steel gets a thumbs up from me Smiley

Would love to be able to Test one as the look as if they ride so well. Shame they don't get a WC team sorted, Then all the WC Fanbois would be queuing up to buy them Wink Cheesy

SDH Rocks!

Not seen this before (I rarely buy bike mags) But I have to say I like:) Props to them for using steel too, lots of people think its what b8ike were made of in the 80's but i think it can be used to great success still:)

And its good to see a UK company bringing the goods!

As for testing on a 'flat' hill, any testing is good testing, the more data the better:) Could be used to test the pedalling characteristics or similar. I know if I designed and built a bike from scratch I would want to test under ever single condition to make it spot on before it hit the public:)

A square edged rock there is the same as a square edged rock on the WC circuit. Even if they are testing the suspension setup there they can still see how it rides and log it. I'm guessing they know a fair bit about testing bikes mate.

Thought I'd mention it in here, seems the most suitable place until I can start a new post in "Spangly New Kit".

Basically I have paid for and am waiting delivery of my K9 which should hopefully be this week *fingers crossed*

Will put link (spangly link) in here to pics and thoughts etc as and when.

It has been a bit of a wait with problems with welders (something to do with moto gp bikes) and a couple of other set backs (was being painted last thursday and needed to be inspected) but should hopefully land any moment now, needless to say I'm more excited than the N64 Kid! (check youtube)

Yea I had my eye on them for ages and when I decided I wanted a brand new DH rig I figured there isn't much difference price wise between the shortlist of bikes I made, as you've mentioned. Plus i figured that all the help/tech/correct springs/tuning/advice etc you get along side the bike would be pretty ace too so yea can't wait Cheesy

I can't believe all the un educated E specultion b*lls**t talk in this thread. and the fact that looks is the most talked about part saddens me greatly that I'm sharing a sport with such a bunch of tossers. I never have, and doubt I ever will pick up a girl because of how my bike looks, nor can I imagine it making me faster.
What I see, and all I think matters is the Idler location, giving me a rough idea of the wheels travel path, close to that of the fron wheel, making it rearward, and bump compliant, meaning it won't want to stop when you smash it into rocks, meaning the wheelbase wil stay as consistent as possible, meaning it will remain stable when suspension is bottomed.
The steel main frame will be stiff enough, will also dampen some shock from side loads that suspension can't absorb, will dampen vibration, and offer a less harsh ride. It'll also be able to be welded long after it's alluminum counter part has been recycled once or twice into a new bike.
I know that the idler size can be changed, allowing different amounts of anti squat/pedal kickback.
What I'd like to know through discussion on here, is the geo, if it has a short chainstay length at static(no rider), the BB height, and the head angle. Also downtube length from BB to bottom headset.
I'd also like to know what it does when braking(squat(how much), nothing).
and what the leverage rate does through the travel, and what length shock it takes.
Some of this stuff I have seen, but can't recall, thought I'd mention it anyway.
Even if ten bikes had broken in testing, that's the whole fricken point of testing init.
