Yes that frame is the blue pre-production model. Ti bolts will not be stock, the front end is a super stiff steel, german made and stiffer than t45 or 4130, ti spring won't be stock either but we will be able to supply them soon in nice 25lb increments. As far as the review goes, dirt are aware that we can data log any bike as a service for any rider, and still, it says Mr. Jones would buy one.
We let a few people have a play on them at the fort bill nps this weekend, mabey one or two of them might be kind enough to give their opinion.
alright, just curious what role you play in the company?

I've been helping out for the past year doing various things, to begin with it was mainly just mechanic work but nowadays I am involved much more with the data logging, bike setup, and other tasks involving development of the bike.

I know Luis is obviously a fantastic suspension engineer, but not too sure about his structural engineering skills.
I know it's fairly lowly loaded but that quite a long bit of tubing holding the idler pulley. I hope the welds holding it on are good quality. A small gusset between the setube and the idler tube would make me a lot happier?
Or does it penetrate right through the seat-tube of the frame?
That shaft does infact penetrate right through and has been FEA'd to death and purposely ridden to try and break it during testing. To give an idea of how important the structural integrity of the bike is to us, the chosen steel for the front end is used for tubing, gusset plates and even the welding wire so that material properties are uniform. The linkages are machined from single pieces of billet so no joins or welds which makes them super stiff while the frame work is manufactured at a company that produce most of the motogp chassis.

Not mine unfortunately Went to Aston Hill with Luis for the day and was fortunate enough to get to build one up the night before to ride BOS Boxxers, Elixirs, Vivd, X.9/Saint, blah blah. Very nice, very fast, very fun. Luis twiddled a few of the settings back at the office based on their data collection and it felt perfectly balanced as soon as I was aboard and up-to-speed. Smithy

I am deeply jealous Miffy, had i been in your postion i would have jumped at the chance. But alas, all i would of proved is the frames strength during and after crashes. Hehe.
I really can't wait to see more of the frame and future projects K-9 may have up there collective sleeve's.
Chris.

Does anyone know the weigh on that frame?
Not the frame alone, but the build shown earlier in the thread (blue frame) with Boxxer Teams (BOS carts), Bombshell wheelset running 2.5 HR Dual Plys and tubes, Saint/X9 drivetrain and 203mm Elixirs was just a hair over 40lbs iirc, which is pretty good for a tough as boots build! Felt just nice as they pedal great so get going pretty easily, and once on the move it just thundered along. The grip you get allows you to rail pretty much anything and the general stability on the move (especially under braking) makes setting the bike up for corners effortless. It's a delight to take down any track. If you can manage to remember all the design aspects that have gone into it while you're belting down a trail, it's a weird feeling when you actually experience it and think 'Oh yeah, so that's what he was on about...'. It's so apparent when you're actually astride the thing. Smithy

We've have it donw to a minus 40lbs bike. I think it was 39.4 but can't really remeber. That was with bomb proof stuff too so room to go even lighter.

Don't these keep falling apart because there over engineered? I'd be highly sceptical of these been for sale anytime soon!

Dude, you cant make a broad sweeping statement like that fuelling/starting harming e-rumours without any sort of justification ! Would have expected better from a more senior forum member.

simply does what others dont, actually keeops you in contact with the ground and rides both small bump and big hits equally as well.
an awesome bike from the short time i spent on it a fort bill, and certaibnly gets my approval... higher front end would be nice though just a tad too low id say.. nothing a drop crown wont sort

Don't these keep falling apart because there over engineered? I'd be highly sceptical of these been for sale anytime soon! Over-engineered suggests something is way stronger than it needs to be....? But no, these don't 'keep falling apart' And yes, they'll be on sale soon. But the chaps at K9 won't let them out until they are perfect. They could have been out and about months, maybe a year ago, and still been a phenomenal machine. But everytime a new idea crops up, it just has to be done, otherwise it wouldn't be completed to the best of their abilities. It'll be worth it Smithy
